The future is a ghost of the past. For New York Fashion Week, DYNE unveiled a presentation at the Fashion Institute of Technology that defied the traditional runway—melding the raw energy of movement with the forgotten echoes of dead technology. Inspired by the fragmented surrealism of Herbie Hancock’s Rockit music video, the space pulsed with relics of obsolete machines—stacked, cracked, rewired—reanimated to tell a new story. Flickering CRT monitors and discarded circuit boards became the backdrop, a tactile reminder that the digital age is only as powerful as its next disruption.
At the core of the presentation was a feature film—an untamed vision of liberation. Shot across vast, barren landscapes where the weight of technology dissolves into insignificance, the film captured the primal force of horses cutting through the dust, their bodies sleek, unburdened, and powerful. The narrative mirrored the philosophy of DYNE: technical wear engineered for movement, built for transition, designed for those who exist between worlds.
